Virtual Server Base Plans
Our base virtual servers are for IT savvy businesses or IT engineers, who want to run their own applications, websites, storage, etc. These are priced without software-level server management or maintenance, or software licences, antivirus, etc., on the assumption that you will provide this yourself. If the situation changes however, either temporarily or permanently, and you wish us to assume responsibility for monitoring, maintaining and managing the server environments, or providing software licences, then we are more than happy to quote on these services for you.
What we do:
We manage the infrastructure (All of our core equipment is Australian based, not offshore.) We ensure uptime of datacentre essentials such as power, routing, cooling and internet and the scalability of those facilities as we grow.
What you do:
You manage the server software environments, applications, virus & spyware tools, maintenance and software licencing for your virtual servers. (Unless you request an agreement from us to provide these services.)
If you are a business who normally outsources these services to an existing IT provider, you can request them to continue to provide these services, and just utilise our infrastructure.
Software Licences:
We are authorised by Microsoft to provide all Microsoft licences on a price per month basis. We also provide several other brands and types of software on monthly pricing including antivirus. Typically, clients using our Self-Drive Hosted Servers will require just a couple of basic licences and provide the rest themselves, but please contact us for a quote if you have specific requirements.
Setup Charges:
Setup cost includes establishing the virtual server, and installing a base level installation of either Microsoft Server 2008 or Microsoft Server 2003. Completion of the configuration, patching etc is not included in the base setup charge. We can provide a complete environment setup, configuration AND migration service for you, or provide any part of that process at your request on a quote/hourly price. For example, you may wish to send us your client data on a USB device and have us copy data into the virtual server for speed and cost purposes if there is a large amount of data.
